Mentions

This guide helps users mention a post on the platform by clicking the mention button and adding their thoughts. Users can mention posts up to two levels deep, meaning they can mention a post that has already been mentioned once. However, the Mention button will not be available for nested mentions beyond the second level**. Unlike reposts, reactions, comments, and share counts are recorded on the originally mentioned post. Users also have the option to remove a mentioned post if needed.

Mention a Post

1. Initiate Mention Post

• Navigate to the Feed page and locate the post you want to mention.

• Click the Share button. Select Mention from the options.

2. Create the Mention Post

• The pop-up closes automatically, and a new post creation pop-up opens.

• The original post is embedded within the new post.

• Users can add text or mention someone before publishing.

3. Publish the Mention Post

• Click on the Send icon to publish the mention post.

• A progress bar appears at the bottom left, indicating the mentioning process.

Mentioned Post Characteristics

• Mentions are shared on the user's profile and feed.

• Unlike reposts, reactions, comments, and share counts are recorded on the original post that was mentioned.

Create Second Level Mention Post

• Navigate to the mentioned post. Click the Share button.

• Select Mention from the options. The pop-up will close automatically, and a new post creation popup opens.

• The mentioned post is embedded within the new post. Users can add text or mention someone before publishing.

• Click the Send icon to publish the mention post.

• A progress bar appears at the bottom left, indicating the mentioning process.

• Users can only mention posts up to two levels deep.

Share Mention Post

Open the Share Options

• Navigate to the Feed page. Locate the mention you want to share.

• Click the Share button located at the bottom of the post. A pop-up appears with 4 options.

Select a Sharing Method

Option 1: Copy Link

• Click the Copy Link button to copy the post's URL.

• Paste the link into a browser (even without an Aladia account) to verify accessibility.

Option 2: Repost

• Click the Repost button to instantly share the post on your profile.

• Reactions, comments, and share count will be recorded on the original post.

Option 3: Mention

• Click the Mention button to add your thoughts related to the selected post.

• A pop-up will open, allowing you to add your thoughts and mention users.

• Click the Send icon to share the mentioned post.

• Reactions, comments, and share count will be recorded on the mentioned post.

Option 4: Send to a User

• Select multiple users to share the post via one-to-one chat.

• A text box appears at the bottom where you can add a message.

• Click the Send icon to share.

• A toast notification will confirm that the message has been shared successfully.

Delete Mention Post

1. Open the Options Menu

• Navigate to either:

  • The Feed page, or

  • The Profile page under the Posts tab.

• Locate the mentioned post you want to delete.

• Click on the three-dot menu at the top-right corner of the mentioned post.

2. Initiate Deletion

• Select Delete from the dropdown menu.

• A confirmation pop-up appears. Click on the Delete button to confirm.

3. Mention Post Removal

• The mentioned post will be permanently deleted and will no longer be visible in the feed or profile.

• The mention count on the original post updates automatically, reflecting the removal.
