This guide helps users through the process of creating a group chat room, adding members using search, and inviting members via a link while ensuring the correct role assignment.
Create Group Room
Navigate to the Chat View
Option 1: Through the Marketplace
Navigate to the Marketplace. Click the Profile Picture from the left-side panel. Click on the Chat Tab. The Chat Page will appear.
Option 2: Using the Message icon
Click the Message icon in the top-right corner. The icon displays the number of unread messages. Click on the Chat View button to open the chat. The Chat Page will appear.
Option 3: Through the icon
Click the menu icon in the top-right corner. Scroll down and select the Message icon. The Chat Page will appear.
Create Group Room
On the chat body, click on the three-dot menu to open a small pop-up with additional options.
Click Settings to customize the chat by changing the username color.
Click New Room to create a one-on-one chat room.Then, navigate to the right side panel, and click on the New Group Room button. A new group room will be created in the left side panel.
Add Members to a Group by Searching
Click on the three-dot menu at the top left corner of the room. Click on the Info button from the list that appears in the pop-up.
Click on the add icon (👤+) in the information panel. In the search bar, type the name of the person to add to the group (for example: John Doe). Click on each member to select them.
A chip (tag) element appears at the top, displaying each selected user's name.
Each chip contains a cancel (✖) icon that allows you to unselect a member. Click on the cancel icon next to a selected user to remove them from the selection.
Click on the Invite button at the bottom, and the selected members will be added to the group.
Invite Members to a Group Using a Link
Click on the three-dot menu at the top left corner of the room. Click on the Info button from the list that appears in the pop-up.
Click on the add icon (👤+) in the information panel.
Click on the Invite via Link button at the top right of the panel. A pop-up will appear that prompts the user to select a role for the members who will join this group using the generated link.
Select a role using the dropdown (for example: Member).
Share the link with the individuals so they can join the group with the specified role.
