Change the Primary Email

This guide allows users to change their primary email address on Aladia. It verifies the new email through a 6-digit code, and upon confirmation, updates the primary email and logs the user out of the app.

Navigating to Profile Settings

  • Access the Settings pop-up by clicking the Profile Picture at the top right corner. Navigate to the Sign In & Security section.

Changing the Primary Email

  • In the Sign In & Security section, locate the Primary Email field where users will see the primary email address set during registration.

  • Click the Edit button next to the Primary Email field.

  • If users haven't set a password for their account before, an error message will appear stating: "Please create a password before you edit the email".

  • If prompted, enter the password and click the Next button.

Adding a New Primary Email

  • Add a new email address in the provided field for the new primary email.

  • After adding the email, click the Send Code button. If users don't receive the code, they can request it again by clicking the Resend Code button.

  • A confirmation message should appear, indicating that a 6-digit verification code has been sent to the new email address.

Checking the Email Inbox

  • Open the inbox for an email from Aladia within the expected timeframe. If not found, check the spam folder.

  • Look for an email containing a 6-digit verification code.

  • Return to the pop-up in the application, which should now have a field for entering the verification code.

  • Type the 6-digit code from the email into the provided field and click on the Confirm button, the system will verify the code.

  • After confirmation, users will be redirected to the home page, where they can access the app using the new email and their password.

Adding or Removing a Secondary Email

To add a secondary email, users must verify their current password and confirm it via a 6-digit verification code. Once verified, the secondary email is added. To remove a secondary email, users simply click the Remove option next to the email address and confirm the action.

Open Settings Panel

Access the Settings pop-up by clicking your profile picture at top right corner. Navigate to the Sign In & Security section.

Secondary Email Section

  • Users should see a section titled Secondary Email with a button labeled + Add. Click the + Add button to open a pop-up or modal window.

  • Add the current password in the provided field and submit it.

  • Clicking the ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ icon will toggle between showing and hiding the password text. Once verified, a new input field will appear to enter the secondary email address.

  • Enter the new email address. After entering the email, click the Send Code button. If the user doesnโ€™t receive the code, they can request it again by clicking the Resend Code button.

Check the Email Inbox

  • Open the inbox for an email from Aladia within the expected timeframe. If not found, check the spam folder.

  • Look for an email containing a 6-digit verification code. Return to the pop-up in the application, which should now have a field for entering the verification code.

  • Type the 6-digit code from the email into the provided field.

  • Click Confirm, and the system will verify the code.

Add the Secondary Email

  • Once the verification code is correct, the Add Email button will become enabled.

  • Click the Add Email button to confirm and add the secondary email address to the account.

Remove Secondary Email

  • Access the Settings popup by clicking the profile picture. Navigate to the Sign In & Security section.

  • Go to the Secondary Email section. On the row containing the secondary email address to remove, click the three-dot icon next to the email.

  • From the options menu, click the Remove button to delete the secondary email address. Confirm removing the email address.

NOTE: When the user removes the secondary email from their account, the platform will log out all other sessions using that email.
