Currently, if a user navigates within the notifications menu (for example, by going to the "Notification Settings" page) and then closes it, the next time they reopen it, the menu displays the last page visited instead of returning to the main view with the notification list.
This behavior is unexpected and counterintuitive, as users expect a drop-down menu to reset to its default state each time it is opened, for quick access to key information (the notifications themselves).
Steps to Reproduce Click the notifications icon to open the menu.
Within the menu, navigate to the "Notification Settings" section.
Close the notifications menu (by clicking outside or on the icon).
Click the notifications icon again to reopen it.
Expected Behavior
Upon reopening (step 4), the menu should display the main view with the notification list.
Actual Behavior
Upon reopening, the menu still displays the "Notification Settings" page (the last page visited).
Proposed Solution
Modify the notification menu component so that its internal navigation state is reset to the default view (the notification list) every time the menu is closed.
the notification menu does not restore its state
